3 Steps to Break Out of the Long Emergency

I've been living in fear, enduring the "long emergency," waiting for the other shoe to drop and something terrible to happen.

This fear means living in a constant state of alarm/vigilance.

I'm reading the news constantly, awaiting crash/doom.

Need to break out of this.

Crash could happen, war could happen, what can I do about it?

Start breaking that fight or flight constant danger mindset.

Lowers stress, lowers cortisol, improves peace

St Francis de Sales said:

"Never be in a hurry; do everything quietly and in a calm spirit. Do not lose your inner peace for anything whatsoever, even if your whole world seems upset."

Take simple steps to break this mindset and develop the opposite habit:

1. Do Mental Prayer each day
2. Go for a walk and get exercise each day
3. Work on something constructive instead of doom scrolling news/facebook: plant a garden, read a book, learn how to write a book, play an instrument, build a business, learn a topic, grow in resilience by developing a water storage source, a solar energy system, food storage, etc.

God does not want us to live in fear. Ultimately, we will all die and meet him face to face. Living a holy life and dying a happy death are the most important things.
